Special Investigative Unit (S.I.U.)
Reducing the net cost of our policyholders' workers' compensation insurance through effective claims management is an integral part of our mission. The cost of Insurance fraud translates into higher premiums and employer assessment as well as significant costs due to production delays, equipment replacement, and the need to rehire and re-train. At Majestic, we are committed to doing all we can to deter fraud and mitigate costs associated with insurance fraud and abuse.
Majestic Insurance Company understands that while the majority of claims are legitimate, we are not immune from attempted fraudulent claims and their costs. We have established effective anti-fraud strategies in compliance with state and federal regulations. We audit our efforts and continually seek to improve our performance.
Professionals with law enforcement and legal expertise manage fraud investigation. Our SIU utilizes abreast of the latest investigative and technological fraud detection techniques as well as trends in a variety of fraud schemes. Our claims examiners, loss control consultants and Special Investigative Unit collaborate with our policyholders to reduce hazards, injuries and claims. By working together and maintaining a heightened awareness for possible fraud, our teams are equipped to identify suspected fraudulent claims early in the claims handling process. As warranted, the SIU facilitates referral of suspected fraudulent claims to appropriate governmental agencies.
We work closely with our policyholders and will provide training if needed to improve awareness and understanding of investigative techniques and fraud indicators. We will cooperate with all entities in the fight against workers' compensation insurance fraud.
